Working with furniture design, I contrasted the palette shape,
reminiscent of the 50's and early 60's Futura and UFO aesthetic
that I love. with the remnant of a utilitarian handmade antique
Vermont farm umbrella. hat and coat stand,. The high-tech enamel
glossy beveled kidney shape floats over heavy, dark, curved, hand
molded wood. I placed a small battery operated candle-light on the
central shaft to give it a hover-float-glow. Fun and whimsical
piece - and very light - but way too much work sanding and creating
